So far my contribution to visual art, if any, is 'prism pictures.' By this I mean taking pictures into the direction of the brightly colored light that emanates from prisms. This technique is seen very briefly in some movies, but I have yet to see a collection of stills along this vein, so I hope people see in this something new. My first photos taken this way were at Bee Canyon Park in Southern California, using an Instamatic Camera, circa 1975. Since colored light hitting the eyepiece would usually miss the lens, it was necessary to place the camera to my side where I could see the light hit the camera at just the right place. More recent pictures have been accomplished using a Cannon SLR.
Thirty years of chasing prismatic rainbows in this way has educated me, an education which I would be glad to share with those who might like to try this and further it in some way. Helpful suggestions would be nice. My next steps will be to better capture the dynamic range of light, to approximate, if possible, that which the human eye can achieve. Feel free to leave feedback, and thanks for having a look!
